During the last couple of century for the demand of economy, population, modernization & development the classic old Dhaka is almost changed. The Buriganga River is mostly polluted. Foods Art and Fantasies of Future Meal -2

Ceramic Installation Art by Ashim Halder Sagor
at 24th National Art Exhibition 2021, Dhaka, Bangladesh

During the COVID19, billions of people around the world face lockdown, joining family breakfasts, lunches & dinners at home regularly, and are experiencing the joys of eating together. Resurgent shifted to family meals with their own culture and lifestyle which are the most precious things happening in the pandemic.

In the early lockdown in Bangladesh, I was upset that I couldn’t go to my studio for clay work. I spent a lot of time watching TV news & talk shows, and noticed – shortage of food & medicine. Neighborhoods are storing food more than they need. Everywhere is like tumult about food. Notwithstanding, Needy people were robbing food from a relief truck ignoring the social distancing-order. It was shocking. It influences my art practice to think about food.

I know; Food art wouldn’t be providing balanced nutrition, would be rations of mental pleasure, fantasies of future meals.
